Gathered Beds (Tribute to the Moss) 2021 35mm ~ This photographic series depicts the texture and liveliness of varieties of moss gathered in the Catskill Mountains. Details of the plant life render the lushness of nature a year after human-kind was forced to a pause. The moss was foraged, arranged and photographed in found pots, then placed in various outdoor spaces of the residency. This project was a means to contribute to the space that housed the artist and art making process, as well as illuminate the interdependency between plants and people, as moss was used as bedding by various indigenous tribes of the Americas.
