This experimental archiving project seeks to collaborate with endangered birds through recorded audio and images found online. The project draws upon, and subverts documentation of the biological sciences, as each bird is researched and processed through a hand drawn illustration made by the artist. The drawing is paired with a recording of the bird call and a musical composition inlaid with it. The music is inspired by both the process of illustrating the bird and listening to its call. The artist hopes that aestheticizing the calls will draw listeners closer to considering these animals as a part of their interdependent landscape.
